House prices 'treading water'.

House prices in the UK have been described as 'treading water', having barely changed over the last 12 months.
Prices increased by 0.1% in September, taking the average value of property to £166,256, up from £165,914 in last month.
The latest figures from Nationwide show that house prices have fallen by 0.3% over the last year. At the same point last year, the average value of a home in the UK was £166,757, suggesting that prices have levelled out.
The three-month on three-month measure of house prices was also unchanged in September. Robert Gardener, chief economist at Nationwide, said the latest data shows that prices are continuing 'to tread water'.
